About the developer Churchill Retirement Living

Churchill Retirement Living is a UK-based construction company that specializes in comfortable retirement housing, with a portfolio of over 160 retirement homes. The company is privately owned by the family with six regional offices.

History of Churchill Retirement Living

The company was founded by brothers Spencer and Clinton McCarthy back in 1994. It was originally called Emlor Homes. At the beginning of its history, it built cottages of stone and thatched roofs similar to those listed above in and around Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset. The company's first office was in Clinton McCarthy, Managing Director and co-founder's garage in the New Forest. A few years later, the developer had grown so much that it was voted 'Housebuilder of the Year' by WhatHouse? Magazine.

In the early 2000s, the home builder decided to change direction, focusing entirely on creating new build homes for retirees. The first retirement development, Avon Lodge in Southbourne, was a huge success. After that, the company sold all existing sites on the open market and focused exclusively on the retirement market. In 2003, the developer changed its name to Churchill Retirement Living.

Since then, the company has received several awards in professional competitions. So, in 2016 it became WhatHouse Builder of the Year? and the first retirement professional to do so.

Churchill Retirement Living currently operates over 200 retirement house developments across the UK.

Family Values of the Developer

Family values, which are independently owned by the brothers Spencer and Clinton McCarthy, are integral to all construction company operations. Therefore, in everything the developer does, there is enthusiasm, pride and quality.

First-class customer satisfaction is at the heart of the business, which is why the company prides itself on numerous awards for its customer service and the way it operates. With consistent 5-star customer satisfaction ratings based on an independent HBF survey, over 90% of customers say they would recommend Churchill Retirement Living new homes to a family member or friend.

Churchill Foundation

The housebuilder Churchill Retirement Living has always been known for its charitable work. Therefore, the Churchill Foundation was created in 2015 to bring all of the company's fundraising efforts together under one replacement. The Churchill Foundation is a registered charity sponsored by Dame Esther Rantzen DBE. Charity seeks to change people's lives through investments in three key areas: alleviating disease and human suffering, promoting health among the elderly, and supporting young people.

In addition, the developer established the Small Grants Program to support small local charities with donations of up to £2,000. The company has already supported several small charities, including Jessie May Hospice, Independence at Home, Sage House Dementia Support, The Honeypot Children's Charity and Winston's Wish, and many others.
